The Organization’s Hardware and Software Inventory
Displays all the installed hardware and software in the entire Organization’s machine fleet.
HealthMonitor collects and archives information on all clients’ hardware items and installed software. This allows you to have a complete overview of your total hardware inventory and of peripherals connected to each client, and to check the number of times a certain software has been installed, or gives you a list of installed software globally or for each individual client. This function allows you to display also instances of uninstalled hardware and software.
Example 1: Problem: You are considering purchasing a new software that requires certain hardware characteristics. Solution: You can display the list of clients that meet those particular requirements.
Example 2: Problem: Checking if the number of Office 2007 licences purchased matches the actual copies in use. Solution: You can display the number of installations for each program.
Processes and services
Display all processes and services running on your workstations.
HealthMonitor provides you with a list of all processes and services running on each machine in your organization. For each process CPU and memory usage are shown, and you can kill any process you consider superfluous or harmful. And you can restart a service from the web interface directly or set an automatic response to a malfunction message.
Example 1: Problem: A user tells you about their pc functioning unusually slowly. Solution: While checking the processes he or she has running you realize that one of them is blocked and is using an excessive amount of CPU space and RAM. You kill it directly from the same form without having to physically go to the concerned pc.
Example 2: Problem: From time to time a Client DNS service comes to a halt and you need to remotely connect to the client to restart manually. Solution: HealthMonitor notifies the central system of a non-functioning DNS Client and the central system will restart the service.
